Preparing a ticker list for a Bangkok briefing
What to send before a dividend research intake so the scope note is accurate on the first pass.
A clear intake saves everyone a revision cycle. When clients request dividend stock opportunity research from our Bangkok office, the quality of the first scope note depends on a short set of facts.
Name the instruments precisely
Ticker, exchange, and legal name prevent confusion between similarly branded listings. If you hold a depositary receipt, say so—the filing path differs.
State the income intent
Are you hunting current yield, seeking defensive income with lower yield, or balancing total return with a dividend floor? The same company can look reasonable under one intent and awkward under another.
List non-investment constraints early
Legacy holdings, employment stock, tax basis, or a family rule that a name cannot be sold belong in the first message. Research that ignores those constraints wastes the follow-up hour.
Decide the shortlist limit before emotion expands it
If the engagement is a three-name brief, protect that limit. Adding a fourth “quick look” mid-engagement usually means either a new quote or a shallower pass on every name.
Timing around earnings
If a key print lands inside your desired delivery window, say whether you want the brief to wait for that release. Waiting is often wiser than publishing a memo that ages in a week.
Bring these points to the contact form, or mention them when you request the flagship brief. Two business days is our usual reply window for a scoped outline.
