Dividend Opportunity Research Brief

A written research engagement on one company or a short shortlist of dividend-paying equities, covering payout coverage, history, peer context, and income risks.

Who this is for

Investors who are weighing a dividend-paying equity—or comparing a small set of names—and want a structured reading of whether the payout looks supportable. Typical clients include individuals managing their own income sleeve, family decision-makers reviewing a concentrated holding, and advisers seeking a second research pass before recommending size.

What you receive

The flagship Dividend Opportunity Research Brief is a written document plus a scheduled discussion. It is not a trade recommendation engine. It is a research memo organised around the questions income investors actually ask.

Included:

  • Earnings coverage of the current dividend, with attention to recurring versus one-off items
  • Multi-year payout history and any cuts, freezes, or special distributions
  • Balance-sheet and cash-flow notes that affect dividend durability
  • Sector peer context for yield and payout ratio (where peer data is available)
  • A plain-language risk section: what could interrupt or reduce the income stream
  • A follow-up call or in-office briefing (45–60 minutes) to walk through the memo

Excluded:

  • Trade execution, brokerage, or custody
  • Continuous portfolio monitoring after delivery (see Quarterly Dividend Watch)
  • Formal investment advice licensed for discretionary management
  • Guarantees of yield, price, or income continuity

How the engagement runs

  1. Intake — You send the ticker(s), your income intent (current yield focus, total-return hybrid, or defensive income), and any constraints (jurisdiction, currency, holding size).
  2. Scope confirmation — We confirm whether the brief covers one name or a shortlist (usually up to three), and set the delivery window.
  3. Research — Public filings, earnings transcripts, payout announcements, and peer comparisons are reviewed. We note where disclosure is thin.
  4. Delivery — You receive the written brief as a PDF, then we schedule the discussion.
  5. Close — Optional clarifying questions within five business days of the call are included.

Preparation

Share annual and interim reports if you already hold them, plus your rough position size and whether the name must remain in the portfolio for non-investment reasons (legacy holding, employment stock, tax basis). Incomplete filings may lengthen the timeline.

Pricing basis

Fees start at THB 28,000 for a single-name brief. Shortlists and cross-border filings with heavier disclosure loads are quoted after intake. See Fees for related consultations.
